Joe’s entering RANT MODE… Nothing riles me up more than a poorly written press release. It annoyed me when I was a business reporter, it annoyed me when I used to do radio news, and it annoys me even more now that I work with emerging artists. You cannot afford to marginalize yourself with a bad release. Please stop sending releases to the wires that say things like “[artist] is what everyone’s talking about!” Give reporters a HOOK and make it easy for them to talk about you. Tie your release to an event or a trend that an AUDIENCE is interested in. Better yet, click here for a FREE downloadable e-book that shows you how to craft a really useful press release.
