I Am (Not) Shelby Lynne

Jul 16th, 2003 | By Joe Taylor Jr. | Category: Editorial

Grammy winner Shelby Lynne, who has a remarkable tale to tell about major label relations, is coming to town. Here’s the rub — her old label still owns her domain name (shelbylynne.com) and is re-directing it to IslandRecords.com. Understandable, but when you search for Shelby, there’s not even a note or a redirect! I am normally not one to bash major labels for the sake of it, but damn — that seems just a bit bitter. Folks, no matter WHO is releasing your record, don’t give up the domain name. You never know when you’re gonna need it.
