SoundScan’s Valentine

According to Music Connection, this year’s Valentine’s week recorded the highest sales since the inception of SoundScan.

Valentine week is traditionally one of the strongest selling weeks, but 2004 broke all records with album sales exceeding 17 million units. The same week also represented the first time “digital track� sales exceeded two million downloads. Industry analysts suggest that highly anticipated releases, Valentine’s Day, and the Grammy Awards telecast all contributed to the record-shattering spike.,
