Five scholarships will be awarded to gifted musicians to attend Berklee from any location in the world. Deadline is August 15, 2004 and winners announced September 30, 2004. To apply, submit a 750-word essay describing your career goals and how Berklee music courses will help you achieve those goals.

Lou, Lou, Lou what’s the problem now?
Florida Attorney General is investigating Lou Perlman. Over 2,500 complaints have been lodged against Perlman and his company, Trans Continental Talent. The complaints allege fraud, deception, and authorized withdrawals from consumer’s bank accounts and credit cards. Perlman is also being sued by Wilhelmina Model Agency for fraud and misrepresentation based on his scouting tactics.

Aspiring musicians can now access free spoken word marketing tips via the new “Artist Empowerment” radio show. Host Bob Baker says the new one-hour show, which is continuously streamed over the Internet around the clock, was created to inspire musicians (as well as creative people of all kinds) to take control of their careers.
