Aspiring musicians can now access free spoken word marketing tips via the new “Artist Empowerment” radio show. Host Bob Baker says the new one-hour show, which is continuously streamed over the Internet around the clock, was created to inspire musicians (as well as creative people of all kinds) to take
control of their careers.

“The mission of Artist Empowerment Radio is to awaken within musicians and other creative people the optimism and attitude that so often eludes them,” Baker says. “Artists, writers and performers have a lot more power and control over their careers than they give themselves credit for. The show is one
more way I’m getting out the message that you don’t have to sit back and wait to be discovered. You can do a lot better by creating your own lucky breaks.”

While much of the material on Artist Empowerment Radio is geared toward musicians, the principles apply to creative fields of all kinds — art, writing, photography, acting, craftmaking, you name it. “It’s all about empowering artists to develop and share their talents, thereby enriching themselves and the world,” Baker says.

“Also, since I’m a musician and music lover, I break up my spoken word advice with short samples of music from some of my favorite independent artists,” he adds. “Adding a little music not only makes the show more enjoyable, it also helps some great indie acts get more exposure — which ties in perfectly
with the theme of the show.”

Artist Empowerment Radio can be found via links on two of Baker’s web sites: TheBuzzFactor.com and PromoteYourCreativity.com. From either home page, just click the Artist Empowerment Radio link.

Bob Baker is an author, indie musician and former music magazine editor who is dedicated to showing musicians of all kinds how to get exposure, connect with fans, sell more CDs and increase their incomes through their artistic passions. Baker’s books include “Guerrilla Music Marketing Handbook,” “Unleash the
Artist Within” and “Branding Yourself Online.”
