Blanks and Postage

Here’s a neat idea for a community site: Blanks and Postage. Fans send blank CDs and cover postage costs, and get great live shows on disc in return. Bands pay $50 for inclusion in the directory, which will surely expose new audience members who want to get as much as they can from the site. The business model here is interesting — using the discs-and-postage route frees the site from paying SoundExchange and other royalties (even if the band has waived them) since the music doesn’t travel online. [Thanks to AthensMusic.com for the tip.]
