Media Obesity vs. Songwriting

The folks in our Nashville Mastermind Group have challenged each other to write as many songs as possible between now and the end of the year. In some side conversations, a few of the participants have told me that, apart from now having to be accountable to showing up at the "song factory," shifting time to this group collaboration and away from watching television or playing XBox is having a marked impact on their productivity. Of course, media are still important for you as a songwriter as a raw ingredient, just be careful how much you consume.
