Above/Below The Web for Musicians

Feb 9th, 2005 | By Joe Taylor Jr. | Category: Web/Tech

Most of the musicians I meet at workshops want to know how they can generate more sales from their music websites. I wish I had my hands on this great model that Seth Godin points at, which shows how your site is just another piece of your audience-building campaign. It’s supported by lots of functions "above" the web, that bring traffic to the site. Many musicians have the "below" part — the technical infrastructure, pretty much down pat. In fact, a lot of the time, I caution clients to keep from "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic." It’s going to be nice to be able to have a model to point at in easy, graphical terms.

Remember that if you need help with any element of your audience building campaign, I’m available for one-off appointments and regular monthly coaching, too.
