Tonic In Trouble

More evidence of the pressure live venues are under… Tonic in NYC presents avant-garde and experimental work, not usually the most profitable business to be in. But they’re one of the few "curatorial" clubs I talk about in seminars, one of the few places where talent coordinators will shoehorn in new bands if their work merits. Unfortunately, like other venues in NYC, it’s hard for them to keep doing what they’re doing in the face of rising rent and liability insurance, so they’re turning to their audiences for help.
