Getting press attention

An interesting article that came across my radar this weekend: How to Get (and Not Get) the Attention of a Music Journalist.

Some artists seem to get obsessed with getting press — any press, in any publication. While seeing your name in print is never a bad thing IMO (so long as it’s not the county police blotter), you’ll have a much greater chance of success if you take the time to vet each publication and find out exactly who to contact. And like so many other things in this business, it’s far easier to start in your hometown than mount a charge on Blender.
