Will you manage my band? Will you help us book gigs?
Right now, I’m too busy with my current obligations to take on any new management clients. And while I’m flattered if you feel you’ve got what it takes to get on my roster, I just don’t have the time to review unsolicited submissions. If you really, really want to get on my radar, focus on growing your audience, then post some of your success stories as comments on my blog or as posts on our bulletin board.
Can I call you and pick your brain about my project?
Not unless you’re already an existing client under contract. I get dozens of phone calls every day from folks who want my help, but aren’t at the point where they can pay for my coaching or management services. That’s why I write the weblog, and that’s why I have published a stack of books about growing your audience. If you want some free advice about your career, post something on our bulletin boards.
Will you review my songs?
Sorry, no. I don’t accept unsolicited songs for review, mainly because I think you should be posting those songs on your own website so your potential fans can pick up on it. You might see some archaic references to “Trytunes” on the site, but I don’t run that submission program anymore. And if you heard somewhere that I’m the mastermind behind the American Idol songwriting contest, that’s just a weird rumor. Instead, check out my series on songwriting contests and buy yourself a copy of my friend Jay’s book about crafting hit songs.
Do you accept guest posts on spinme.com?
Yes. Fill out the assignment submission form with your contact details and the text of your article. We’ll review your submission and edit it if necessary. You retain full copyright to your submission, and can request its removal from our site at any time.
Why haven’t you returned my call?
Read the full disclosure on my contact page. Again, I’m always flattered when someone wants me to be a part of their success team. However, I can’t keep up with all the voicemail that comes into my system each day. If you really, really want to connect with me, please understand that I’m a lot more efficient and effective when we communicate on Twitter or over e-mail.
