Sell MP3s on Your Site Cheaply

by Joe Taylor Jr. on September 1, 2005 · 2 comments

PayPal offers discounted transaction rates for sales under $2. What that means for you is that you can use a service like PayLoadz or ThirdSphere to deliver MP3s to your fans at iTunes prices, keeping as much as 89 cents for yourself out of a 99 cent transaction. Although I still like the idea of going through CDBaby’s digital distribution and linking to your tracks as an affiliate (so you can get some chart love), folks just starting out can get a feel for e-commerce without spending any cash up front. (Payloadz lets you sell $100 of files per month at no charge.)
