If you’re a working musician, you must see this movie. Yes, like “That Thing You Do,” it hearkens back to the era when you could track down someone like Sam Phillips on the street and actually get an audition.

On the other hand, this movie shows you how even Johnny Cash had to work day jobs he hated while cultivating his talent. It’s also stunning to be reminded that there was a time when you could see Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Elvis Presley on the same bill at a tiny venue.
