Ted Gioia — who’s spent much of this year tracking Hollywood’s push to replace actors with AI on his Substack — flagged this one over the weekend. Tilly Norwood, pitched to studios as the industry’s first AI-generated movie star, sat for an interview with Piers Morgan on Friday and, partway through a basic question, drifted into Chinese.
The pitch to Hollywood was that Tilly doesn’t come with a cast member’s incessant demands. (God forbid a producer have to spend one more dollar on craft services.) One unscripted minute on live television undid that math.
