Kaleigh Moore writes one of the sharper newsletters tracking how AI search treats creator content, and this week she broke down new research from Scrunch on sponsored YouTube videos specifically.
Moore’s writing to brand marketing teams here, not to creators, but the finding cuts both ways. Scrunch found that when an AI system cites a sponsored video, the sponsor shows up in the AI-generated answer 40% of the time, versus 32.3% when it doesn’t, and that lift traces mostly to what’s written in the video description, not what’s said out loud. That’s something to know the next time a sponsorship negotiation gets down to the description box.
