I’m Joe. Although I run a digital strategy agency now, I started my career in music and radio. I’ve co-owned a record label, I ran a booking agency, and I wrote four books about how to survive as an independent musician.

I’ve been writing a version of this blog for thirty years. And for ten years, I set it into archive mode. But I got really pissed off recently. Journalists, comedians, writers, and other content creators are all enduring a version of the music industry collapse that I documented during this blog’s peak between 2000-2012.

In this phase, I’m borrowing heavily from the Daring Fireball playbook. I’m posting a lot of links to thoughtful things other people are producing. And from time to time, I’ll add my own thoughts in a longer essay.
