March 23, 7:00-9:00 p.m.: Song Structures that “Lock In” the Listener by David “Catâ€Â? Cohen at the Music Connection Theatre, 4215 Coldwater Canyon (north of Ventura Blvd.)
SONG STRUCTURE is perhaps the most important and most difficult part of songwriting to master. Most original songs “run out of gas” somewhere along the way and lose or diminish the listener’s interest.
Cat will discuss how to keep your intended audience into your song all the way through by using effective verses, choruses, pre-choruses, and bridges, solos, and/or breakdowns.
If time permits, Cat will be happy to critique participants’ original songs.
