While I doubt that there’s a studio executive who would authorize such a thing (on paper), it wouldn’t surprise me if an eager intern were purposefully leaking tracks to P2P so radio stations can get their mitts on them.
More likely, it’s radio stations using P2P to grab copies of files that get corrupted or discs that get stolen. Back when I worked on Todd Rundgren’s show, I’d have killed to have had P2P — at least once a week, I had to go on a wild goose chase to track down a song we wanted to play.
