And while most of the musicians who read this blog on a regular basis rely on a spouse or on a day job to maintain health insurance, it’s an important topic to stay aware of. One of the biggest complaints I hear from artists who have transitioned to careers as working musicians is that it’s hard to hang on to good help. Running your band like a business and obtaining group benefits (which you can do pretty easily through your local Sam’s Club or Costco, or even through MusicPro Insurance) is a great way to attract and keep the very best team members.
