UPDATE 4.4.07: American Idol Songwriting Competition Signups Open!!
Has it really been six weeks since my last post? My, how holiday time flies! Info on what I’ve been up to coming very soon.
In the meantime, my inbox is flooded with messages about this post from August, mentioning the American Idol Songwriting Competition. Since we heard the first rumblings of this rumor, Randy Jackson’s confirmed that something’s going to happen, but it probably won’t be announced until we get down to about the “Final 12” stage of the main show.
Keep an eye on this bulletin board for updates — I would imagine they’ll have details before we will.

hi, I am an avid songwriter looking for information about the date(deadline), and time the song submissions have to be in for the Amweican Idol song writing contest!I was also wondering what format they want the song in cd or other format? also how many submissions (songs) can one person enter? also,how long can the song be, and when will the winner be notified? any known details, please let me know so I can have a jump on the game!!

This is a side of music that does not get enough of credit. There is plenty of undiscovered and aspiring songwriters waiting for the right opportunity,to spread their wings and fly. However, we need more feedback and information about how to enter, the contest rules, and the deadline for entrance of the competion.I am country, at heart, and this a great opportunity for anyone that loves any genre of music.I’ll see how high I have to go to reach wishes and dreams, even if it is on the highest star.
